"The People Speak" celebrates the life's work of "people's historian" Howard Zinn.   Zinn, who died in January, was an American historian, author, activist, playwright, intellectual and Professor of Political Science at Boston University for many years.  A star cast of performers including actor Matt Damon, hip hop artist Lupe Fiasco, and poet Staceyann Chin animate Zinn's written anthology called Voices of a People's History of the United States.  The powerful narratives bring to life Zinn's celebrated political classic A People's History of the United States. "The People Speak" was released in December 2009 on The History Channel. This event is free!

3:00 pm Documentary Film: "You Can't Be Neutral on a Moving Train"

This 2004 documentary about Howard Zinn's life and work is an eye-opening view of history from the perspective of the disenfranchised.  Narrated by Matt Damon, the film features music by Pearl Jam, Woody Guthrie, and Billy Bragg.
